2005 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
The growing season of 2005 required important canopy management and rigid grape selection. A well-timed harvest guaranteed that the fruit met our strict Festeggiata standards. With the rainy August, we benefited from the constant breezes that kept our grapes dry and free of mold. With milder red cherry notes, we opted for a less rigorous barrel regimen. We kept a portion of the wine in steel tanks while the rest aged carefully in large oak casks that contributed structure without overshadowing the wine itself. During the aging process, the 2005 vintage has evolved into a stellar Tuscan wine and we look forward to its release date in 2009.
