2004 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
The 2004 growing season was relatively cool; grapes matured slowly allowing subtle fruit flavors of strawberry and black-capped raspberry to develop. To protect these delicate fruit characteristics we chose the controlled environment of stainless steel tanks for the alcoholic fermentation. From the tanks in the cellar the wine was moved into second pass French oak barrels. The older, less intense oak barrels were selected to add structure without compromising the delicate fruit.
- Grapes: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo, Trebbiano, Malvasia bianca
- Color: Deep red with youthful purple clarity
- Perfume: Black-capped raspberry and wild strawberry bound by toasted vanilla
- Palate: Savory ripe red fruit with soft tannin backdrop
- Production: 2000 bottles
"Graceful red fruit balanced with delicate oak structure."
